Support: Setting Up GPS Tracking and Monitoring
1. Open the Monitoring Panel
- Navigate to the Monitoring Panel on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
- If you see a red X at the top, click it to clear the list of vehicles.
2. Switch to Unit View
- If you're in Group View, switch to Unit View by clicking the icon with three lines on the menu bar.
- Toggle between Group and Unit views if needed to find the Unit View that shows your vehicles individually.
3. Add All Units to the Monitoring Panel
- Once you're in Unit View, click the recycle button. This will add all available units to the panel automatically.
- Confirm by clicking Yes when prompted to add the entire fleet (e.g., 28 units).
4. Customize Your Monitoring Panel
- Drag the left side of the monitoring panel to the right to expand it.
- Click on the three little dots at the top of the panel. This lets you customize the icons that will appear in the panel.
- Turn on the following options (with a left check mark):
- Location
- Drivers
- Unit Tracking
- Motion State
- Data Recency
- Connection State
- Quick Track
- Messages
- Quick Report
- Media
- Commands
- Leave Properties unchecked (right check mark).
5. Display Geofences and Driver Information
- Ensure the Address and Geofences options are turned on.
- To make this information easier to view, drag the address to fit it on the screen, and adjust the size of the geofence and other icons as needed.
6. Adjust the Monitoring Panel Layout
- Drag the icons and information around to organize the panel in a way that is most useful for you.
- For example, drag the Address to a convenient spot on the screen, and adjust the size of the geofences accordingly.
7. Remove Non-Operational Units from the List
- To remove vehicles that aren’t installed or aren’t currently active, click the red X next to the vehicle.
- Ensure that only relevant, operational vehicles are displayed in the monitoring panel.
8. Sort Vehicles by Different Criteria
- Use the Sort By Name feature to organize the vehicle list alphabetically.
- You can also sort by Motion State, Data Recency, or Connection State to easily identify active vehicles or those with recent location data.
9. Follow a Vehicle Using Fleet Zoom
- To track a specific vehicle, select it from the list and zoom in on its location using the map zoom function.
- The map will center on the selected vehicle. You can zoom in and out, and it will follow the vehicle as it moves.
10. Use Quick Track for Vehicle History
- Click on Quick Track to view a color-coded trail of a vehicle's movement throughout the day.
- The path will show up on the map, and you can hover your mouse over any point to see relevant data like speed, time, and location.
11. Use the Message Function
- Click the Message icon to view raw data from the vehicle.
- You can scroll through the messages or clear them once you’ve reviewed the information.
12. Generate Quick Reports
- For a quick overview of trips and parking, click the Quick Report icon.
- Select the Trip and Parking Report to see details of each vehicle's stops, trip durations, and parking times.
- You can export this report to PDF or Excel by clicking the Export button.
13. Monitor Vehicle Status
- Use the checkmark to decide whether to display vehicle icons on the map.
- A checked icon means the vehicle will appear on the map, while an unchecked vehicle won't.
- You can also use the Fleet Zoom function to follow one vehicle or fit the entire fleet on the map.
14. Take Snapshots of Vehicle Cameras (Coming Soon)
- When vehicles are online, you will be able to take snapshots from cameras installed in the vehicle.
- This feature can be accessed through the triangle icon. We'll explore this further in a future video.
15. Change Vehicle Information
- To edit a vehicle’s name or icon, click the wrench icon in the Properties section.
- Change the vehicle’s name and adjust the icon to match your preferences.
16. Review the Additional Menu
- Access the Additional Menu by clicking the right-hand side menu icon.
- This menu shows hidden features like trailers or additional vehicles not yet added to the panel.
Tips:
- Play around with the layout and view options to customize the system to your needs.
- Remove inactive vehicles to keep the list relevant and easy to navigate.
- Use Quick Track and Quick Reports regularly to monitor vehicle activity and generate reports on-demand.
